Join us for our FIRST BIRTHDAY PARTY! To celebrate one year of making Central European cinema accessible to Londoners, we are screening the “Czechoslovak West Side Story” – popular musical The Hop Pickers / Starci na chmelu (1964).
Experience cinematic history with Velvet 4 Film and watch the first ever Czechoslovak on-screen musical! Charming student Hanka and her friends are spending summer at a hop brigade where Honza and Philip start fighting for her attention. Romance unfolds in the attic of the student house, with the help of iconic soundtrack full of rock´n´roll and bossanova tunes. Inspired by West Side Story, but entirely Czechoslovak in storyline!
