Hope Family is a group of concerned citizens in Dalston who have become apalled by the rising numbers of street homelessness in the area and who can no longer sit by and do nothing.
After the first ‘Speak Out For The Homeless’ event and a fundraising Table-Top Sale, Hope Family were able to buy three large thermos flasks and enough food to start the soup run.
The Hope Family Soup Run went out for the first time in October, taking soup, sandwiches, snacks and hot drinks to people sleeping rough around Kingsland Road in Shoreditch.
At Speak Out For The Homeless they hope to raise enough money to print out information cards about local homeless services that can be distributed along with the food, as well as to provide the people sleeping on the streets with christmas presents in December.
Come along and enjoy a friendly and relaxed night of poetry, music and spoken word while supporting an important new project.
