Skyway Community Garden is a project carried out by SkyWay Charity, in collaboration with Canals & River Trust, Landscape Designer Peter Beardsley and CHUG. It converted a small disused part of towpath into a public garden enjoyed by locals and visitors. Part of the garden design is the wall at the rear: a brick ‘canvas’ for a piece of public street art. Street artist RUN kickstarted this project.
A panel of CHUG and young people from SkyWay will shortlist ten designs. The
shortlisted proposals will form a public exhibition where visitors will be able
to vote on the design they want to see realised. The result will be announced at an
awards ceremony and night of music and performance to fundraise for Skywa.
