Film Screening

Thursday November 17th 7pm

Official Selection 2016 Sundance Film Festival From Academy Award nominated Director Josh Fox

How to Let Go of the World (and Love All the Things Climate Can’t Change)

A follow on from the important and well known film Gasland, that won Jox Fox a nomination for an Academy Award as writer and director. Gasland is about Fracking in America. A hot topic that is escalating to protests here in the UK now that the government are going against public opinion and forcing the licenses of sites around the UK.

Josh Fox and also the producer Deia Schlosberg are currently filming and documenting the ongoing protests at Standing Rock against the Dakota Access Pipeline. Deia was arrested only a few weeks back, risked a heavy 40 year sentence, but has now been released. They both defend the freedom of our press.

How to Let Go documentary film covers the global environmental impact of fossil fuels, it has been created by people that really care about the health of our planet. We screen this film in honour of their courage to get the information to us. The film is acclaimed to be a must-see documentary, it was released in January 2016. We welcome you to a film screening at the Hive Dalston followed with a discussion and info evening on what are the next steps on environmental awareness and up coming activism.
