This is about saving London’s soul before everything turns into luxury flats, there’s nowhere to go and nothing fun and free left to do.
In the early ’90s, Reclaim the Streets proclaimed “THE PLAN IS TO KEEP YOU INDOORS” – we are now well into this isolationist future where brilliant minds are on lockdown in mum’s yard with a bag of super skunk and an all-pervading pessimism.
Meanwhile the London Clearances are forcing people literally and metaphorically to the edge. We must retaliate against this with our dancing shoes; show these so-called political “parties” that we can throw a better one. The Hive is the perfect place to do this, a not-for-profit, ReSpace, self-funded, multiple use community building next to Haggerston station.
