Sunday 30th October 10am-7pm

CALAIS DONATION BANK DAY AT THE HIVE:

French President Francois Hollande has vowed to dismantle the “Jungle” migrant camp “definitively, entirely and rapidly” by the end of the 2016. Some papers are saying the evictions will even begin this month. Without any clarity on the situation, all we can do is provide the support that these refugees will need during the coldest season of the year.

With over 10,000 refugees currently based at the Jungle, and as part of a major call on the British government to honour their promise to relocate unacompanied children, we are urgently collecting items that will be needed for the next stage of their journey.

These are human lives without a home, without warmth and without comfort. A warm winter coat and good walking boots could be the very thing that saves their lives.

On Sunday 30th October at Hive 10am-7pm, Hive Dalston, we ask you to bring these specific priority items that we will then transporting down in the first week of November:

3-4 seasons sleeping bags
Tents
Thick blankets
Roll mats
1L bottles of water
Big backpacks and rolling suitcases
Warm winter coats
Thick socks

Please also sign the petition calling on Theresa May and Amber Rudd to honour their promise to home the unaccompanied children of Calais Jungle – it’s now on over 25,000 signatures and counting!
