17th September 11-4pm, 1st floor
Whether you’ve given birth in a hospital, a birth centre, at home, in a jungle or in a taxi. It could be your fifth or first birth. The circumstances of delivery, how you were received and treated as a pregnant and birthing woman, if the process changed your relationship with friends and family in any way, if you felt supported and nurtured…
All this and more make up your unique birth narrative and impact the way you feel as a mother, as a woman and as a citizen. Your story may be empowering, beautiful, shocking, gory, amusing, inspiring or none of the above but in sharing it in a safe, supportive space, having your story heard and acknowledged and understood can help you to move on from any feelings of resentment and regret or celebrate and reinforce any feelings of self-esteem and womanhood.
