Apapo Ilu translates to ‘Gathering of drums’ or ‘Gathering of villages’ in the Yoruba language.
Apapo Ilu is a solo drummer / percussionist fusing ethnic instruments from around the world with electronic sounds and spoken word including the poetry of Rumi.
The result is a spiritual, hypnotic musical journey from meditative chimes and singing bowls to tribal beats.
