Daisy Roots dancers are a new dance collective founded in April 2015 in loving memory of dancer and friend Ruth “Daisy” Morgan. Based in London, this exciting new group challenge the convention and stereotypes of a dance group.
The dance collective combine different dance disciplines and music to primarily perform in Clubs and festivals. They collaborate and work closely with DJ’s and several event organisers to ignite events with their stage presence and unique tailored performances.
Boomtown festival, Charlie Brown Speakeasy (1920s), Beatdown Babylon; DJ Bashment and FUNK the borders are some of many events they have entertained in and made their mark on. Disciplines displayed by the group are inspired by Latin, Hip-Hop, Afro-beats, Reggae plus Jungle and Drum N Bass.
Daisy Roots have not only attracted some talented and experienced dancers but it is also a place for beginners to advance.We are constantly open to exploring new dance genres and making it an integral part of the group. All members are welcome to take part in the creative process, choreograph and also learn from guest choreographers.
The group rehearse every week in an excellent dance studioat Southside Ballroom, in Wandsworth. Dancers travel from Essex, Brighton, Bristol and Bournemouth to be part of this friendly and energetic group of ladies.
